Name: Rubicante
Age: 3
Personality: Rubicante is the more calm of the Four Fiends. He has a gentleman’s manner of speech, and a mindset to boot. He is also the most honorable of the Fiends, holding bargains and never going back on his word if he can help it. This honor applies to combat, in which he will always fight squarely and might even heal an opponents wounds beforehand. He is not naïve though, and will not hold back against an opponent.
However, there are times when Rubicante cannot help but feel cocky. He is the strongest Fiend and he knows it. He feels no true superiority to his fellow Fiends, but he knows when an opponent is outmatched and may make a show of presenting such a fact. He does not enjoy fanfare though, and so will keep such a display to a minimum.
Rubicante is also the mastermind of the quartet. It was him that first thought up the plan of taking the Lifestream, and it is he who coordinates the actions of the Fiends; to a certain degree, of course. He likes to manipulate others into helping him achieve his ends. He has a way with words, and will attempt to deceive others without lying outright. That, after all, would be dishonorable....
Abilities: As the Fiend of fire, Rubicante is a capable pyrokinetic. In addition to the flames he controls, he himself is immune to fire. In fact, outside sources of flame will actually mend his wounds.
Rubicante’s most extraordinary ability belongs to his cloak. It has special defensive properties that allow it to absorb magic directed at it. As such, combat-based material can be rendered useless. Indirect magic, such as an attack from a summon, is not absorbed. Also, the synthesized energy does not directly go to him. It has never healed his wounds and it does not seem to give him any added stamina. To this day, the location of the siphoned energy is unknown to him.
Lastly, Rubicante can heal in a manner similar to Cure magic. He cannot heal himself, only others.
Background: Rubicante broke free from the Ruby WEAPON just in time to witness the Lifestream that gave him life. With both the foreign cells and energy of life flowing through him, Rubicante set out to find his purpose in the world. He knew that he did not belong, and he knew that he would not be accepted. As such, he began to concoct a plan to free himself of this prison without walls....
Somewhere along the way, before encountering the other Fiends, Rubicante met a strange man in the back streets of Junon. This man, named Taron, was instantly recognized as a fellow reject of the planet, if not under wholly different circumstances. Detecting that he was lost and confused, Rubicante stepped up to bring him under his wing. He taught Taron the ropes, from combat to basic survival skills. After several months, when Rubicante felt that he had taught him enough, he bid him adieu and went on his way.
It was he who gathered the Fiends, after discovering the existence of Scarmiglione. One by one they assembled, and Rubicante announced his plan: use the White and Black material to bait the Lifestream, devour it and become entirely new lifeforms. Much to his satisfaction, they heartily agreed.
