Basically the first 47 seconds of the fight scene with Sephy, Genesis and Angeal, written for a thread I never got around to posting. First-person view via. Genesis. Enjoy. =D
"| The mysterious abyss tis the Gift of the Goddess. In pursuit of this gift we take flight. Within the heart's water surface a hopeless wander will flow. Like ripples to waves come forth the dreams below. |"
He wasn't really engrossed in his book; The man had read the entire thing over and over again that he could quote it effortlessly. It was for show, you could say... He found a certain pleasure in not only the words as he said them, but also the text as well. His | Loveless | , and the | Gift of the Goddess |.
He picked up on the almost silent noise of the Silver haired 'Hero' turning around to face him, but pretended to be disinterested as he spoke.
"| Loveless | Act 1."
Dark eyes that where somewhere in between a golden color and a light brown finally and almost reluctantly looked away from the little novel in his hand, settling instead on the 1st class soldier in front of him. The red-clad man snapped his book shut with a 'Hn,' sort of gesture, a scoff at the other. He chose his words carefully, somewhere between insulting and playful... like their relationship.
"Painful, is it?"
With a graceful movement, he placed the book away and set his feet on the ground, leaving the ledge he had been sitting on. The ebony haired man next to him glanced over, as if looking for conformation.
But of what, one should wonder?
"Having to hear you read it everyday---I have no choice but to remember."
The perfect SOLDIER tapped his head with his right index finger to put emphasis on his words, and almost silent laugh passing through him. From this memories set of eyes, you couldn't see or hear it... it was just a feeling that would have caused Project G to bristle in annoyance, if he had been crass kind of person. His posture remained relaxed though, and only when the other raised his sword and brought it down again in a 'let's go' gesture. He was more than happy to comply, adrenaline coursing through his veins at the thought of the battle. He controlled himself though, and like he always did before a fight, bowing his head for a moment and allowing reddish brow hair to fall in front of his face, sword raised to the sky.
What he was doing... would remain unknown to those who didn't know him. Other's would of been able to infer that he might of been praying to the Goddess Mineriva.
From his left, the dark haired man produced a smaller sword than the one strapped to his back commenting off-handedly to the redhead as he sized up his opponent, not bothering to make eye contact with his partner.
"Don't go swing your sword too recklessly."
He cast a dark look at the other, the reproach making Project G roll his eyes at him. He was a First Class SOLDIER, there was no need to be treated as at child.
"Tch. Whatever."
