Just at that second, as Cloud ran clean out the door screaming, Reno had shown up. That blonde had some nerve, almost running clean into him like that. Turning to face the direction Cloud was running, Reno clenched his fist angrily and cursed, saying that if he didn't watch it he would have to beat him. Although that scream was most...unsettling.
"Bet that Tifa chick asked him out...heh...guess I'll have to step in." Reno chuckled, a sly smirk perked on his lips. Not only would he go in and annoy the hell out of Tifa, just for the sake of it, but Reno might also decide to drink here today. After all, it looked like it was going to pour it down. He turned to enter the bar, when suddenly....

Kadaj stepped aside lightly as Cloud dashed passed him. No matter how much he wanted those shards, he wasn't about to be bludgeoned to death by a raving lunatic just because he happened to be in the way. Following the ex-SOLDIER down the stairs, warily, because he could already hear glass smashing and wood splintering. Pausing at the bottom of the stairs uncertainly, he watched silently as Cloud trashed the entire bar. Was this... was this what Black Materia did to people? Or was it something else? That odd sensation of Sephiroth being nearby had not left him. Cloud finally seemed to wear himself out, falling to his knees and then flat onto the floor. He wasn't sure what to do. Those shards... he needed those shards... But even as he took a step towards the ex-SOLDIER, Cloud had pushed himself upright once more. "Brother, the shards... Give them to me," Kadaj hissed, but Cloud didn't seem to hear him. In an instant, Cloud was running out of the door, screaming like a lunatic. The stillness that descended after the insanity seemed eery. Kadaj hesitated for only a moment, before dashing towards the door after his brother... ...And colliding with someone who was just coming in. Staggering backwards, Kadaj glared at the red-head. One of Rufus's goons. Just what he needed. Shouldering past him, he raced out onto the street, glancing around for Cloud... but he was gone. ((Short. ))

The impact with whoever it was that banged into him was the last thing the red-head wanted, first he nearly got run down by Strife...and now, people where banging into him! The nerve, don't these people remember who he is!? Reno Of The Turks, that's who.
Staggering to regain his senses, rubbing his nose as if it was going to bleed any second, the Turk maintained his balance after whining to get back whoever bumped into him. But before he could see who it was, they had already rammed into him again...this time, with their shoulder making slight contact...causing Reno to stumble to one side and fall flat on his face into the bar. It was dark inside, so the red-head couldn't see the damage...yet.
"Ughhh...whoever had the nerve to do that's gonna get his ass kicked..." Reno grumbled, getting to his feet and rubbing his face again...wiping away a small smudge of blood using his jacket. He turned to face the doorway, noticing the door was just barely hanging on to the hinges. He wondered, why did Cloud scream like that and do so much damage to the door? It wasn't like him to scream like that...and why was he hearing the sound of glass crunching under his feet? He thought about getting his flashlight-pen out to xamine the room a little later...he had someone's ass to beat down for all the bumping and shoving. Turning to glance out the doorway, Reno spotted a figure dressed in black outside. A figure, with silver hair. Crap. Not again.
"W-what!? You punks again!?" Reno shreiked angrily, before growling at the remnant. He remembered alright, how those sneaky monsters kidnapped Elena and Tseng...beat him and Rude to a pulp...and then tormented the president. No way was he going to sit and chat with this guy, he hated the kids guts...that, and Kadaj was armed. Well, Reno was too, but he just had his Electro-mag Rod. And all he could do was tazer people and maybe whack them really har with it. Kadaj? He had a freakin' sword. He could CUT things...slice and dice things...take out the pig and butcher it...to put it lightly. All Reno could do was whack things and shock them...ooh, how he regrets not choosing the handgun like his collegue Elena did. Then again, fire arms never where his thing...you couldn't use them safely if you where drunk. And Reno, was almost always drunk.
"Thirsty..." Reno thought, feeling slightly worn down snce he hadn't had ANYTHING to drink since this morning...coffee at his desk...that was it. Shaking his head to rid himself of the temptation of alcohol right now, Reno drew his Electro-Mag Rod and entered an attacking stance. Sweating slightly from his nerves, Reno awaited Kadaj's response...just to see if he wasn't just hellucinating again.

Gone... Cloud was gone, and all three shards with him. All three. He hadn't even succeeded in claiming one of them. Was he destined to be a failure? Was that why mother favoured Sephiroth?
No... Give me one last chance, mother...
He would hunt down Cloud, one way or another. And he would take those shards. Using whatever means necessary. It was all he could think of. What else was there to do? The last of mother's physical being was gone, and he would never be complete without it.
...Or had that really been the last? Rufus was nothing but a liar, after all.
His mind was drowning in turmoil. Staring blankly at the people going about their business, utterly oblivious to his presence, he was seized by the sudden temptation to summon a pack of Shadow Creepers. He wanted to see them suffer. Why should they be happy, when he suffered so?
But the whispers in his mind said no... He had to concentrate on the task at hand.
What task? Hadn't he aready failed that task?
Narrowing his eyes, Kadaj's gaze dropped to the ground at his feet, his shoulders visibly tensing. Oh, he knew who was responsible for him losing Cloud. If it weren't for that idiotic, red-headed... monkey, getting in his way, Cloud wouldn't have escaped. He might even have had the shards by now...
The pupils of his eyes narrowed to cat-like slits as he turned, striding back towards the entrance of Seventh Heaven. As he slammed the already sagging door out of his way, there was a splintering of wood as the uppermost hinge gave way, leaving the door swinging at drunken angle in its frame.
"That's the second time you've gotten in my way," he snarled, Souba glinting dangerously in the half-light as he flicked the twin blades up to point at Reno, accusingly. "I'm sure you haven't forgotten what happened the first time. Or would you like me to refresh your memory?"

That did it...he wasn't hellucinating. Reno could feel the cold wind run down his spine as the remnant took his blade and aimed towards him, those peircing jade-like mako eyes cutting deeply into the red-heads already dampened soul. But as usual, he kept his front sheild up and strong...even though behind it all he was dying to get away and find back-up.
"Don't need remindin' of nothing, yo. If I remember, we kicked your bro's backsides." Reno taunted. Yeah, right...more like they kicked his backside. Reno activated the shocking mechanism of his electro-mag rod, before raising it up towards Kadaj.
"And I'll bust your ass right now and haul it back to ShinRa, jus' like we did to Sephiroth." Reno taunted before getting into a dash...powering up his swing of the electro-mag rod. But just as he got to the half-way point of his dash, Reno slipped on something, fell onto his backside and shocked himself in the arm....again.
"insert excessive curses known to man here" Reno swore, before getting to his feet again, lookign slightly shaken and drowzy. Hell, when you got zapped by that thing, it stunned you...pretty damn hard.

Just like they did to Sephiroth? The Turks were the ones who'd locked Sephiroth in Shin-ra HQ, then. Ha, how pathetic. His brother really must be losing his touch. The Turks were not amazing fighters. Competant, but not amazing. The proof was all there, in how easily they had captured Tseng and Elena, and in how effortlessly he alone had gotten past both Reno and Rude in Healin Lodge.
His eyes narrowed slightly. If Sephiroth could be bested by the Turks, maybe he was finally starting to fail. Maybe he would finally get the chance to prove to mother that he was worth more than the one-winged angel...
His attention was drawn back to Reno as the red-head charged him, dropping into an offensive stance and getting ready to counter. But Reno never reached him. Kadaj sneered as the Turk slipped over and ended up on his backside. Lowering Souba slightly, he tilted his head to one side.
"What was that about busting my ass?" he laughed quietly, a cruel laugh. As Reno clambered back to his feet, Kadaj closed the remaining distance between the red-head and himself in a few strides, pressing the twin points of Souba against Reno's chest. "You let my brother get away with... something very valuable to me. I can't just let that go."

Reno wanted to think of a comeback, just to piss Kadaj off that bit more and make himself feel better...but just before he could, he felt the tips of the remnants duo-katana poking his chest. A comeback would probably result in him being gutted.
"Let your bro' go? Cloud? Don't know what he has that belongs to ya, but ya better get it off him quick. He looks like a madman, yo." Reno answered back, regardless of what he previously thought. If the Turk didn't watch his words, he'd end up in serious trouble.
"If ya can't let it go, then go after it." Reno teased. So much for watching his words, teasing someone with their blade pointed at you is a death wish. Unless Reno really was drunk.
"Besides...we know you have the other half of the black materia. That silver-haired momma's boy has the other half. So...you gotta have it. Nobody else can." Reno blurted out dryly. Yep, he was drunk.
(mine is crap, shut up! lol.)

"I know brother has lost his mind. He's the one that did this, after all," nodding his head towards the chaos of broken wood and shards of glass that littered the bar, Kadaj's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. Cloud clearly had not been in control when he'd trashed the bar... so who had? Briefly Kadaj remembered the sense that Sephiroth had been present... No, that didn't make sense. Sephiroth wanted the shards, he wouldn't make Cloud run off with them. Then who?
"I mean I can't let your idiocy go overlooked. If it weren't for you, he wouldn't have escaped."
Kadaj's eyes narrowed when Reno mentioned the Black Materia... How did he... how did he know that was what Cloud had? No, maybe he didn't. Running the words through his mind again, he tried to make sense of them. The "silver-haired momma's boy" must be Sephiroth, seeing as he was here and Loz and Yazoo were... well, he didn't know where they were. But he already knew that Sephiroth had half of the Black Materia... So did that mean... Reno though he had the remaining fragments? And if the red-head brought up the Black Materia unprompted, that must mean the Turks were interested in it. Were they searching for it, too?
Dropping his gaze, the remnant seemed lost in thought. Perhaps he could use this situation to his advantage. The Turks had access to all the finest Shin-ra technology. If anybody could find Cloud, they could. And if they managed to get hold of the shards that were in Cloud's possession, it would be easy enough to retrieve it from them. Certainly easier than getting them off his half-mad brother.
"I don't have the Black Materia," he murmured, as though to himself, lowering Souba to his side. He looked for all the world like a child who'd just been scolded for failing something important. "Cloud had it. Or what's left of it. And now he's gone. No thanks to you."

Reno gawked after hearing Cloud had the materia...so he was hiding it from them all this time? Wait a minute...maybe...
"So that's why he's gone whacked up inside the head." Reno chuckled, before sighing with releif that the remnant had lowered the pressure of his weapon.
"And lemme guess...big bad boy Sephiroth wants you to go and get that other half off Cloud, right? Shoulda figured...only reason he'd have left you alive." Reno muttered softly, slightly suprised himself over the inccident at hand. If Kadaj wanted the materia too, he must be working for Sephiroth. Question is, where was Cloud hiding the materia? Reno didn't take much notice of if the blonde had it in his hands, he was moving too fast....that, and the nut-job had his hands on his head, tugging at his own blonde locks as he ran...
"You don't know where your blonde buddy is hiding the materia, do ya? Cause...if that's what you're lookin' for...then maybe we could work something out." Reno said in a sly tone, smirking slightly as he turned off the shocking mechanism of his weapon, before tapping it in his hand. Reno may not be the 'brightest' of Turks...but he sure knew how to work his charm and trick people before beating their heads in. Getting Cloud wasn't a problem...getting the materia off him was. He looked really crazy and dangerous, they'd need some sort of 'muscle' to get the job done. And what would they do once they had the materia? Heh...only ShinRa knew.

Kadaj almost turned on Reno again when the Turk mentioned Sephiroth using him, but he controlled himself. No, that wouldn't do. If this idiot monkey was going to be of any use to him at all, he certainly wouldn't be if he was dead. After all, he seemed to be getting somewhere. Slowly, admittedly - Reno wasn't the quickest of minds. With his back turned to the red-head, Kadaj allowed himself a smirk. Reno had taken the bait.
Where he's hiding it? For a moment, Kadaj considered. He knew where the shards were - they were in Cloud's chest. But there was no need for Shin-ra and the Turks to know that. If they only knew that Cloud had it somewhere, they would no doubt capture the ex-SOLDIER and only try to get him to tell them where he hid the shards... and Cloud most likely wouldn't. If he told them the shards were in Cloud's chest, then they would take them, and probably hide them from him... Like they had hidden mother...
No, for now, he only needed Shin-ra to find Cloud. They didn't need to know the actual location of the fragments.
"They were in a safe upstairs," Kadaj said finally. "But when I tried to get them off him, his mind snapped and he trashed this place before running off. I can only assume he'll find a new hiding place for them."
It was almost all lies. But why should he care? After all, President Shin-ra was very adept at lying. He was merely playing at the same game.

Reno shrugged after hearing Kadaj's excuse.
"Guess that's me stumped then. Boss told me not to beat anyone's head in to get the shards...and I ain't gonna be able to catch Cloud without beatin' his head in." Reno chuckled.
"The blonde ain't gonna come quietly. Probably come screamin' and threatenin' us. Hate to ask ya, but if you want the shard that badly, ya gonna have to come with us and 'persuade' Cloud to give up."

"As long as you can find him, I can deal with him," Kadaj practically purred, turning back to face Reno again. Raising Souba in a somewhat threatening manner, he smirked, tilting his head to one side. "You'd better not try anything... underhanded."
Anything underhanded like he was attempting. No doubt Shin-ra would try to use him to bring Cloud down so they could get hold of the shards. But he wasn't about to let them get near the Black Materia. He needed those shards. He had convinced himself completely that once he had those shards, he would have an advantage over Sephiroth. And somehow, he would get the remaining shards from Sephiroth, and this time he would be the one to summon Meteor, to wound this cruel planet and drain it dry of Lifestream. Just as mother intended.

"Whatever, man. Just make sure you kick his ass and bring him back to us alive...we only need one of the shards anyway. Don't care what you do with the rest of them." Reno chuckled. He slowly made his way to the bar and inspected the damage, before hauling up a bottle of wine that wasn't damaged, taking a seat on the only in-tact barstool to drink.
"We know where he'll run to. Only one direction for him to go, we cut off all air transport and ferries near Edge. He'll be headin' towards Kalm." Reno explained, before taking another sip from the bottle of wine.
"This meetin' never happened...if anyone asks what happened, yo, say I was drunk and trashed the place."

If someone had told Kadaj he'd end up working with the Turks, he wouldn't have believed them. And yet, here he was, making bargains. Completely worthless bargains, of course, his side of which he didn't have any intention to uphold, but bargains nonetheless. Narrowing his eyes as Reno claimed they only needed one of the shards, he said nothing. He didn't care how many they "needed". He needed all of them. There was no way he'd let Shin-ra take one. But he'd let them think they'd have their shard, for now. They'd be more cooperative that way.
So, now there was a plan, they should get going immediately. Cloud would be caught like a rat in a trap. Then he'd do as he'd sworn to do, and cut the shards from Cloud's chest...
But Reno seemed to have only one thing on his mind. Alcohol. And his last words were quite obviously dismissive. Kadaj's eyes narrowed.
"Well then... Don't you think it's a good idea that you at least call and get the transport cut off before you get any more drunk than you already are?" he snapped irritably. "Brother will have reached west continent by the time you remember, otherwise."
He didn't have time to waste with this idiot. Turning and storming out of the bar, there was a loud bang a few seconds later as the door finally gave up entirely and slammed to the floor.
He was about to go and fetch his own motorcycle from where he'd left it just outside Edge, when he noticed Cloud's bike, Fenrir, still sat out front. Considering for a moment, he shrugged, striding over to it. Brother wouldn't mind him "borrowing" it. And if he did... tough luck. The engine roared into life, and Kadaj paid no heed to the pedestrians he nearly ran down as he shot through Edge on the trail of his brother and the shards of the Black Materia...
