"...I trust noone anymore, Nero." Sephiroth answered calmly, with a slight stutter of emotion in his voice "...but I know for a fact, that you couldn't use the Black Materia, even if you wanted to. And these are dark times for everyone, so I have no choice but to trust someone who has the power to hide the threat." Folding his arms and glancing at the floor infront of his feet, Sephiroth sighed and shot Nero a glare once he heard him mention being 'diposable' and 'being used'...and in response to him, other than shooting a rather 'insulted' glare at Nero, Sephiroth revealed his one-wing and unfolded his arms.
"I was a fool, trying to hide as much of the materia in my body, as Cloud was...but observing him proved useful; you're not part of Jenova, so you shouldn't be affected." Sephiroth answered, before clenching his fists and looking away from nero angrily.
"And I know what it's...what it's like...to be used..." he said bitterly, turning away from Nero entirely.
"If I wasn't so intent on putting things right, fixing the mess I was used to create, I would destroy ShinRa for the pain it caused me...the things it robbed me of..." Sephiroth sighed before turning to face Nero again, a slightly irritated look on his face.
"You can try to find Genesis on your own...but him and I knew eachother better than anyone else, so I doubt you'd get any information from him." he added, a slight smirk appearing on his lips.
"...and Genesis especially wouldn't talk to a coward."

It was the sound that drew Nero’s attention, more than Sephiroth’s words— a strange kind of rustling “whoosh”, and the Tsviet immediately suspected an attack, spinning around to face the SOLDIER hero. What he saw was not what he expected to see. For a moment, he observed this new revelation, hardly listening to what was said. He heard the name “Jenova” again, and made a mental note to enquire about it at some point in the future.
“So, you are another of ShinRa’s monsters? But of course, you are a 1st, like my brother and I… and Genesis.”
Just how many monsters had ShinRa created? Either way, it meant that Sephiroth was a good as an equal to Nero— not a Tsviet, so not “one of them”, but not human, either, and therefore not the enemy. He would not go so far as trusting the man, but he was perhaps not so wary of him as he had been at first.
“Very well, I will acquire this… ‘shard’, if only for the sake of my brother. But if ShinRa gets in my way, I will not hesitate to destroy them.”
There was no desire to “put things right” holding Nero back from that. Weiss had sworn vengeance against those who had tortured and mutilated them. If it had not been for Hojo controlling the Immaculate Emperor, ShinRa would already be little more than dust and a bad memory.
For the thousandth time since Nero had awoken to find himself alone here, he cursed himself and his own short-sightedness. The belief that it was his oversight which caused this… situation… that it was his fault that Weiss was gone, burdened him. If he had seen it before it was too late, perhaps things would be different now. Perhaps Weiss would still be here. Instead, his love for his brother had blinded him to the truth— he would do anything Weiss asked of him, and he had not stopped to question the sudden change in Weiss’s ambition. Why should he? The secret of Rebirth was a perfectly normal aspiration for one who knew he was dying. What perturbed him was that he had not seen the change in Weiss’s base manner itself, when he alone should know his brother better than any other. They were two sides of the same coin. As good as a single being.
The man who had controlled his brother… Hojo… he was yet more ShinRa scum. The realisation had only reignited Nero’s desire to destroy them all. And if Weiss so willed it, he would.
He had been silent, lost in thought, for longer than would be considered normal – or polite – in any kind of conversation. Crimson eyes narrowed as he dragged himself from his thoughts, regarding Sephiroth for a moment longer before he spoke again.
“I expect that you will uphold your end of the… ‘deal’.”

Great, another being calling him a 'monster'...it was people like that who drove Sephiroth into the ground, and the same people who he sought to destroy. Then again, killing all those people over his origins made him more of a monster than Genesis. But at least he hadn't gone and formed an army of clones, receiting Loveless like a brainless ape or total nutjob with nothing better to say or do with his life.
"...isn't everyone a monster in their own way?" Sephiroth said coldly, until hearing Nero mention accepting the offer. At that moment he hid his wing and eased himself, before flashing off a smug look at Nero.
"Just do what needs to be done to get the shard. I'll be meeting up with Genesis in a few hours to finish off a plan I have been thinking of; so once you have the shard, meet me and Genesis at Banora and we'll take things from there." Sephiroth explained.
"You have my word; just meet me and Genesis at Banora with the Shard."
(UBER BAD! Edited for Kadaj's sanity.)

“ShinRa made us monsters, and treat us as such,” Nero said coldly. “But their actions… if we are monsters in body, they are monsters in mind. Which is worse, I wonder?”
Nero’s darkness had begun to gather around him, pooling like black blood on the ground and curling around his form like smoke. As always, his expression was unreadable beneath the mask he wore, and even his voice remained level. He shook his head slowly.
“I believe they are worse, because they, unlike us, had a choice of what they became. But they are too ignorant and selfish to see past the curse they gave us. That is why they must be destroyed.”
The Tsviet turned his back on Sephiroth, the darkness closing about him, obscuring him from view. Then the shadows faded once more, and when they cleared, Nero was gone, leaving the One-Winged Angel alone in the darkness of Deepground.
